Thermoplay nozzle range improvements

Thermoplay announces upgrade of the D nozzle range

Double sealing benefits of the original D nozzle:

* Sealing diameter is on the nozzle body. This gives a large sealing diameter when compared to nozzles that seal on the tip. The sealing diameter is situated away from the heat, causing the plastic melt to freeze.
* If the molten plastic should pass the seal there is another sealed area around the nozzle head, reducing the possibility of molten plastic flooding into the manifold cavity.

The nozzle tip which was previously integrated into the

old nozzle body is now screwed into the nozzle body core. These are available as types DN1, DN1B and DN3B

* Types 1B and 3B, with extended tips, are frequently used for internal injection in critical areas, such as tall caps and containers. The extended tip keeps the heated section of the nozzle away from the part which improves the parts cosmetic appearance.

* All the tip types are manufactured from a special sintered steel which makes them suitable for the injection of all types of thermoplastic materials.

* Flow channel diameter has been increased, to improve flow rate and reduce shear stress. One can mould a larger part with the new D type compared to the original nozzle.

* The standard lengths available have been tripled and maximum length has been increased to 206 mm for diameters 18, 22 and 30, and 256 mm for diameter 44. Nozzle diameter 18 has been added to the range for types 1 and 1B
