Viscosity control: Trace heating of palm oils in tanks

  • Client Industry: Food Production
  • Application: Improved viscosity of palm oils stored in tanks for optimised pumping, pouring and flowing in production processes - counteracting fluctuating ambient temperatures
  • Solution consisting of both serial trace heating cables and self-regulating cables

Another similar application to the handling of palm and other edible oils, is that of glucose lines that typically require heating.

Liquid glucose needs to be transported via tankers and/or pipelines and pumped directly into tanks.

To ensure optimum viscosity of the product, the transfer pump, pipeline and service tank are all heat traced.

For any food processing application requiring transportation or storage of temperature sensitive liquids/ semi-liquids, Thermon has the right heat trace solution.
